Vandalism case sends woman to prison for two years | Sentencing Memo

Recent State/Local Prison Commitments from Tehama County District Attorney’s office.

1. RBPD – People vs. Billie Bush, (22CR1857); PC594, Vandalism, a felony; and PC69, Resisting  an Executive Officer, a felony.

Brief History: Officers responded to a call of the Defendant vandalizing a building by destroying an intercom unit. The defendant caused an estimated $1,000 worth of damage to the building. When officers contacted the defendant, she became combative, fighting and kicking police as they attempted to take her into custody.  Sentenced to 2 years and 8 months in state prison.

The Red Bluff Police Department investigated this case.

2. TCSO-People vs. Ronald Guest (23CR1905); HS11377, Possession of a Controlled Substance after a Specified Conviction, a felony.PC594, Vandalism, a felony; and PC69, Resisting an Executive Officer, a felony.

Brief History: The defendant was contacted by law enforcement as a passenger in a vehicle. The defendant was on parole and was searched. Officers found a glass pipe in the defendant’s pocket and one gram of methamphetamine near where the defendant was seated. The defendant is a registered sex offender and admitted to purchasing the methamphetamine.  Sentenced to 16 months in state prison.

The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office investigated this case.

3. TCSO – People vs. Laurence Dalberti, (22CR882); PC368, Grand Theft from an Elder, a felony.

Brief history: The defendant took a debit card belonging to the elderly victim and used it without the victim’s permission. The Defendant later admitted to using the money he obtained from the card to pay for drugs and sex.  Sentenced to 2 years Formal Probation, 60 days county jail, 80 hours community service.  The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office investigated this case.
